Calgary Pride is pleased to welcome TD Bank Group (TD) as the Presenting Partner of the Calgary Pride Parade & Festival for 2021, 2022, and 2023. TD is forever proud to support over 150 2SLGBTQ+ community initiatives and Pride Festivals across North America, not only during Pride season, but all year long.

Hot off the high heels of its reimagined 30th Anniversary celebration in 2020 amid COVID-19, Calgary Pride is proud to produce its second reimagined Pride Week, B!G PRIDE, running August 27 to September 6, 2021. In order to ensure the continued health and safety of our community, we are leading with a mix of online and in-person events, presented by TD.

Support from TD will help ensure the continued success of Calgary Pride, including building and maintaining our capacity to offer year-round programming that celebrates, reflects, and meets the continuing and complex needs of local gender and sexually diverse communities. The funding from TD brings stability to Calgary Pride’s operations and ensures that we are effectively meeting the needs of our community throughout the year.

“Pride is a movement that allows us to not only celebrate, but to continue to push for real change”, said Robert Ghazal, Senior Vice President, Branch Banking, Prairie Region, TD Bank Group. “Through the TD Ready Commitment, our global corporate citizenship platform, we’re thrilled to work together with Calgary Pride and provide meaningful support to the 2SLGBTQ+ community with the goal of creating a more inclusive and sustainable tomorrow. Through Calgary Pride and other local 2SLGBTQ+ initiatives, we continue momentum for positive progress and create even more reasons to celebrate.”

“Calgary Pride’s partnerships are built on a foundation of shared values. And TD seeks to connect people safely through shared experiences, arts and culture, and local events that amplify diverse voices and create a sense of belonging. It’s a belief that when people participate in their community, then good things happen. This approach resonates with Calgary Pride on a fundamental level. It creates opportunities for empathy, community connection, and dialogue that are incredibly powerful and align with Calgary Pride’s vision of our city, free from discrimination against gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.” – Calgary Pride

About Calgary Pride:
Calgary Pride is a volunteer-led, non-profit organization. Our mandate is to advance visibility and inclusion for Calgary’s gender and sexually diverse communities; to do this, we endeavour to build strong community partnerships, implement ongoing programs like Reading with Royalty, Queerly Festive, Evolve: Pride Amplified, and Calgary’s premier celebration of diversity, Calgary Pride Week, Parade & Festival.

In the spirit of respect, reciprocity and truth, Calgary Pride, as an inhabitant of Calgary Alberta, honours and acknowledges Moh’kinsstis and the traditional Treaty 7 territory and oral practices of the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani as well as the Îyarhe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations. We acknowledge that the territory we work and live upon is home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3 within the historical Northwest Métis homeland.
