ALPHABET MAFIA, a dazzling celebration of 2SLGBTQ+ art, dance, and culture, returns for its second year!
This one-of-a-kind exhibition will be a day packed with incredible imagery, electrifying performances, and showcase local queer artists. You won’t want to miss this vibrant celebration of our community’s creativity and pride!
This event offers an opportunity for visibility and connection during a time when our community needs it most. The event aims to include individuals from various backgrounds and generations, ensuring a diverse and inclusive experience for all.
This year we are honouring queer resilience through our featured art exhibition “Growing Through the Cracks”, uplifting and centering the diverse array of voices that make up our 2SLGBTQ+ community. We are especially excited to highlight the role of the black and indigenous community members whose experiences being queer and racialized have often been overlooked or disregarded in LGBT+ spaces.
Call For Artists
Opening Fall 2025
Sharing the stories of our community members is crucial. By highlighting authentic experiences and honoring the multiple identities within the 2SLGBTQ+ community, we celebrate its rich diversity.
“Growing Through the Cracks” is an artistic showcase of what queer resilience can mean. Just like a dandelion growing through cracks in the pavement: stepped on and hated, but beautiful, innocent, and determined to grow. This resilience can take many different forms, and we welcome any and all interpretations of this thematic framework.
Artists of various practices are encouraged to apply. This includes painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography, and design. Selected artists will receive a standard honorarium payment and must be available launch. This is an opportunity to be part of an important cultural event and meaningful community experience.
