Going All the Way is a 1-hour theatre performance that follows best friends Avery and Beatrice (played by Ty Wesley and Loreto Espinoza, respectively). They have spent their whole university degree creating off-the-wall performances, but their final project is outside everyone’s comfort zone: teaching sex-ed to middle schoolers through puppetry. The show takes a turn for the bizarre when years of resentment and confusion bubble up, leaving the two of them hashing out their issues with sex, love, and identity in front of an increasingly restless audience.
This provocative, original work premiered last November in Victoria, BC and is created and directed by Hannah Mariko Bell and written by Sophie Underwood and Kiley Verbowski. The vibrant and unforgettable world of Going All the Way is realized through the work of SKAM’s creative team and crew, including Stage Manager Megan Farrel. The puppets featured in the play were designed by Hannah Mariko Bell, with Puppet and other Props Construction by Christian Tervo, assisted by Sasha Lazin and Faith Robinson. The complete design team includes Lynnéa Chan (Costume Design), Miriam Dumitra (Lighting Design & Sound Design), and Logan Swain (Set Design).
