DESCRIPTION:Come on out for a cross-organization collaborative all-ages sober variety show on Sunday\, July 27th from 1:00 to 5:00 at Contemporary Calgary with time to mingle before and after! \nTickets available now: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/big-queer-variety-show-tickets-1415897560719 \nJoin our Emcees\, Alyjah Ermine and Oliver Twirl\, for a fun afternoon of queer joy and creativity as a whole bevvy of talent crosses the stage! There will be drag performances by El Rey del Sol\, Alina Montenegro\, Dayna Hart\, Sir Velvet\, Roy GBP & Oliver Twirl\, poetry readings by Cece Chow and Alyjah Ermine\, hip hop from Kindé\, and classical and Bengali dance performances by Kajal and Ratul! \nTickets:\nWe are offering pay-what-you-are-able tickets and splitting 100% of the ticket sales between Black Pride YYC\, Colores Del Alma\, and Rang De Pride to help support them in all the offerings they have coming up in the calendar. \nOur sponsor:\nThank you to the Community-Based Research Centre for providing funding so we can pay $100 honorariums to all performers. Tips will also be split amongst all performers to ensure everyone is paid for their labour. \nAccessibility:\nTo make this event safe as possible to attend for as many of our 2SLGBTQIA+ community members\, we ask that folks do a Covid test within 24 hours of attending and wear masks when not eating. Masks will be provided at the door. \nThis is a sober all-ages event! We welcome kids and families! Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. \nFood will be served! Details are coming\, but there will be gluten free and vegan options courtesy of the Pansy Club\, as well as Jamaican patties from Simply Caribbean. \nContemporary Calgary has a paid parking lot and is right by the c-train downtown. They have wheelchair accessible washrooms on the main floor and the floor of the Heather Edwards theatre. There are multi-stall gendered washrooms on all floors as well.
