SUMMARY:Apollo Pickleball Open Play\, Newer Players Welcome
DESCRIPTION:Join Apollo Pickleball for a community and FUN-FIRST playtime! Apollo Pickleball is a volunteer-operated\, non-profit organization serving the 2SLGBTQI+ community and its allies (regardless of sexual orientation). Bring a friend or alone!\nThis is our biggest event yet! We’ll have space for 30 PROUD players as we take on all 6 courts at our favourite school gym: Le Roi Daniels in SE Calgary. Even better\, we’ve scored FIVE timeslots over a 6 week period! Those players willing to commit to all 5 slots up front are being rewarded with a package price of just $50! \nThose who are uncertain can choose to opt for a waitlist space only. Waitlisted players will be offered a spot no sooner than 14 days before the event and will pay the higher rate of $12 per session. (Payment will be due immediately upon sign up).\nWHEN: April 23 & 30/May 7 & 28/June 4 (11:30am-1:30pm)\nCOST: $50 for 10 hours of play (Package price); $12for 2 hours of play (individually; as available) \nPayment to be made by etransfer to: ApolloPickleball@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE: Payment is due WITHIN 48 HOURS OF SIGNUP or you’ll be moved to the bottom of the waitlist. There will be no cancellations or refunds for this event. In the event that you aren’t able to attend a session\, we’ll do our best to fill that spot from the waitlist. If the spot is filled\, 50% of your session fee will be credited to your account. The waitlisted player who accepts the vacated position will pay just $10. \nPlay details:\nTo come to open play\, we expect that you’ve played at least 5 games and know the rules. Open play is novice-friendly but not for brand new players. Coaching is not provided during open-play.\nIf instruction is preferred\, keep your eye out for one of our highly anticipated; Novice Nights!\nOur goal is to ensure you get to play close to your own skill-level; while stretching yourself to improve every time. We will have 1-2 court for newer players (if required)\, but will be encouraging you to dip your toe into the sea of open play!\nWe do switch partners with each game so be prepared to meet new people and make new friends!\nThe most important quality for players is to be accepting – not only of diversity but also of other players skill levels. Please note that overly competitive\, non-novice-friendly behaviour won’t work for this community. \nWe have paddles you can borrow but HIGHLY ENCOURAGE decent court shoes to prevent injury as well as protective eyewear. \nWE’LL BE PROUD TO WELCOME YOU TO OUR COURTS!!
