DESCRIPTION:You are invited to the 3rd Annual Citywide Pride service!\nPresented by Calgary’s Affirming Network of Faith Communities and Affirming Connections.\n\nSeptember 5\, 10am MDT Online \n(Link will be LIVE on Affirming Connections Facebook page and Youtube channel)\n\nWe will have interfaith reflections from Affirming faith communities\, music\, special guests\, and more! This service comes to you from a variety of affirming faith communities and a variety of religious traditions.\n\nWe invite all to attend! Feel free join us and share the service with your community.\n\nAnd our fantastic guest speaker is The Rev. June Joplin!\nJunia “June” Joplin began serving in church ministry over twenty years ago\, at nineteen years old. She has served congregations in the U.S. and Canada\, currently serves as Associate Pastor of the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto. She holds degrees from Appalachian State University and the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond. June made international headlines last summer when she came out as a trans woman and was subsequently fired by her Baptist congregation in Mississauga. Acclaimed as an inspiring preacher\, June was recently recognized as one of Canada’s top 25 Women of Influence for 2021.
