DESCRIPTION:A collaboration between the Calgary Phil and Pink Flamingo on the Black Lives Matter Murals Project invited two vastly different artistic cultures to collide. Five artists were invited to respond to a new Calgary Phil commission by Canadian composer Laura Hawley\, written for our Chorus and based on L.R. Knost’s poem I Rise. We celebrate the results with the debut of this new work in a performance led by conductor Leslie B. Dunner\, accompanied by the mural artwork\, and music by Duke Ellington and Florence Price. Uyemi and Sinzere join us for John Legend and Common’s hit Glory from Selma.  \nPresented in partnership with Pink Flamingo.  \nProgram and artists are subject to change without notice.  \nLESLIE B. DESCRIPTION:CRGRA is proud to announce a two for one event at the Big Four Building on Saturday Sept 3.  The Big Four is a very large building and so we decided to split it into two.  We will be having Drag Shows (Drag Up) in one hall and Country and Western Music (Hoe Down) in the other hall.  All for one admission price.  Better yet purchase your tickets before Aug 27th at a discount.   Come watch some of your favorite drag performs such as Justyne Tyme and Terri Stevens along with community singing stars Patrick Masse from Vancouver\, Amy Bishop (Calgary) and the gay cowboy himself – Robert Adam.   Warm up the evening with some line dance lessons on the Country side.  Then wander over to watch some of the great drag entertainment\, wander back for some country music and club music and then wander back\, you get the idea.
